Day 1 is all about individual leadership. Extraordinary culture is impossible without great leadership. Our individual tiered leadership session were specifically designed to meet you "where you are" in the organization and provide practical skills for thriving in that position.

Leading Without Rank: For Those Who Are Not the Boss (non-supervisors). Learn more.
This course is intended to help non-supervisors develop leadership skills that will be critical in
their career. Topics include “leading up”, having difficult conversations, the distinctions
between leadership and authority, remembering your “why” and how to leave a legacy.

Stuck in the Middle: Leading Between a Rock and a Hard Place (supervisors). Learn more.
This course is specifically designed for those who find themselves somewhere “in the middle”
of an organization. Intended for supervisors who are not senior leaders, we will discuss: being
the leader your people deserve, moving from “doer” to “leader, the art of delegation, providing
and receiving feedback, task prioritization, and how to work for “that” boss..

Not By Chance: The Intentional Senior Leader (senior leaders). Learn more.
Being a great leader does not happen by chance; it’s an intentional process. This course will
provide senior leaders with valuable insight about being an intentional leader. Topics will
include: being the Chief Vision Officer, being the Chief Communication Officer, being a people-
first organization, developing a leadership team, how not to be “that” boss, and unintended
consequences: why words matter.

Today is the day that people from all sections and all levels of the organization “converge” with each other for one primary purpose. To design a culture that agency employees and the community deserve. Participants leave the symposium with an actionable plan that can be implemented to create an extraordinary culture.

Vice President, Culture Wise
Al works with CEO’s of many diverse industries. Al is a skilled presenter and has spoken to numerous groups including General Motors, PACE, Chambers of Commerce, VISTAGE International and Athletic Interscholastic and Coaches groups. Prior to his consulting career, Al was a senior leader for more than 20 years in the employee benefits industry.

We are limiting this event to 180 participants.
Ideally, agencies will send at least one (sworn or non-sworn) of the following: one non-supervisor, one supervisor, and one senior leader. Keep in mind, if in a group of 3 or more, we offer a discounted rate of $375/person.
We recommend staying at the Crowne Plaza Lansing West, where we will hold a special evening reception on August 17.
No, meals are on your own. However we will provide coffee and bagels each morning and there will be an evening networking event sponsored by Virtual Academy with light horderves and beverages.
Things come up and we understand. Full refund with cancelation no later than 7 days prior to the event (August 10th). If you cancel within 2 weeks of the event, a 15% cancellation fee will be deducted from the cost of your ticket.
